Saying Hello

Hello everyone, sorry I'm late with my post. But I had a little glitch with my computer, now I'm on the right track. I trust everyone had a Good Valentine's Day and all you lovebirds got your candy and flowers. Well let's rock with this course.

Assistive technology is vitally important in the age of information.  Libraries have embraced this technology in order to allow access to as many people as possible.  This blog will highlight some of that technology.  Your articles, images and video are appropriate.  You have a great start!

Estefania's post

I read a lot of interesting articles when I was googling our topic. As a result my contribution to the blog was to add pages to it and one of those pages deals with "related article" which I thought would be nice for people to get extra information that doesn't necessarily  fit in our main blog. I also added in that page an article that tells you about assistive technologies in the past 20 years and the progress that libraries have achieved.

Cindy's Post

With technology changing so fast in today's world, it is vitally important to offer accessibility options to those with such needs.  Such assistance might come in the form of books printed in braille or on audio devices for the sight impaired or by offering computer terminals with moveable monitors to accommodate wheelchair access.  I recently visited the San Diego Public Library downtown branch and was pleased to see what an amazing assistive technology area they offer.  To view some of what they offer, view the OliverMcMillan I CAN! Center Services for Persons with Disabilities webpage.

To our blog page, I edited the titles of each contributor's post to that of their name, rather than "post1" or "post 2", etc.  In addition, I added a hyperlink to direct traffic to a page that may be of interest.  I also made subtle changes to the layout, such as darkening the color of the navbar for easier visual clarity, moving the photo that Britteny added to the same area where I inserted a YouTube video.  Also, the "contributors" column is now horizontal right under the page title.
